Woman Reports Internet Fraud

Anita M. Wilson, East Gardens, reported she lost $1,300 to Internet fraud.

Martin Schmidt, Archbold police chief, said on Monday, Aug. 11, Wilson sold some items over the Internet. The buyer sent her too much money for the goods.

The buyer then asked Wilson to send back the overpayment, because they needed the money right away. Wilson agreed, refunding the difference out of her own account.

When Wilson attempted to cash the buyer's check, it was dishonored by the bank; that left Wilson responsible for the amount she sent to the buyer.
