Bicycle Rider Strikes, Injures Local Woman
      Ila Storrer, 62, Archbold, suffered a broken foot after a boy on a bicycle struck her about 1:30 pm, Monday, Aug. 11. The Archbold Police report states Storrer walked out of the north door of the Rupp Furniture building on the corner of Stryker and North Defiance streets (the former Vernier hardware store).

K Of C Checks Stolen, Cashed
      The Archbold chapter of the Knights of Columbus was the victim of a theft that has cost the organization about $1,580. The Archbold police report states Michael S. Coressel, chapter treasurer, said sometime between May 20 and Aug. 14, someone entered his residence at 402 Stamm St., Apartment 8, and stole blank K of C checks.

Youth Treated, Released After Car-Bike Mishap
      Seven-year-old Eric Rocha, Archbold, was treated and released at the Archbold Hospital after his bicycle collided with a car about 11:20 am, Saturday, Aug. 16 at the intersection of North Defiance and West Williams streets. The Archbold Police report states Rocha was riding his bike east on the West Williams Street sidewalk.

Woman Reports Internet Fraud
      Anita M. Wilson, East Gardens, reported she lost $1,300 to Internet fraud. Martin Schmidt, Archbold police chief, said on Monday, Aug. 11, Wilson sold some items over the Internet. The buyer sent her too much money for the goods.

Dog Bites Woman
      No charges have been filed after Karin Foth, Archbold, was bitten by a dog in the 200 block of Vine Street between noon and 12:35 pm, Monday, Aug. 11. Martin Schmidt, Archbold Police chief, said Foth was cutting through the yard. The dog had broken its chain, ran up to Foth, and bit her on the hand, raising red marks. She also had scratches on one leg.

Parking Lot Mishap In Pettisville
      A pickup truck, owned by Ohio Gas Company, Bryan, was struck by a concrete truck about 10:45 am, Tuesday, Aug. 12, a Fulton County Sheriff Department report said. Jason M. Knapp. 28, Wauseon, was driving the truck owned by M&R Redi Mix, Pettisville. As he was backing the truck into the M&R parking lot, he backed into the parked pickup.

Wednesday Crash Claims One Life
      Karen S. Essex, 46, rural Defi ance, was pronounced dead at the scene of a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Co. Rds. H and 10, Wednesday, Aug. 13. The Ohio State Highway Patrol report on the crash states at about 8:36 am, Essex was driving a car north on Co. Rd. 10 and failed to yield the rightof way to an eastbound sportutility vehicle driven by Lorrie M.
