2008 Athletic Hall Of Fame Inductees Named
      The 2008 class of the Archbold High School Athletic Hall of Fame has been announced by the Archbold Rotary Club. Ten inductees make up this year's class, the third to be inducted into the AHS Athletic Hall of Fame.

Middle School Fall Sports Start Practices
      Archbold Middle School begins fall sports practices next week. Athletes should report in workout gear and need a physical on file in the athletic office before being allowed to practice. 7th Grade Volleyball: Tryouts: Aug. 13-15, 10 am-noon, middle school. Coach: Coricia Meyer.

Cross Country Camp
      Katrina Gobrogge, AHS '08, and Alex Frey, PHS '08, lead runners in a drill during a cross country camp at Archbold High School, Monday evening, Aug. 4. Forty-two athletes from Archbold, Pettisville, Fayette, Napoleon, and Hilltop are participating. Gobrogge and Frey were runners in high school.

Pony League
      The Archbold 13- and 14- year-old Pony League team recently finished third in the Bowling Green tourney. The Streaks defeated the Tiffin Cyclones 12-5, Bowling Green 19-6, and the Seneca Hawks 11-1. The Ohio Titans defeated Archbold 11-9, while the Southern Michigan Timberwolves defeated Archbold 13-7.

Hornish Finishes 26th At Pocono
      Sam Hornish, Jr., AHS '98 and Indianapolis 500 winner, finished 26th in the Pennsylvania 500 NASCAR race at Pocono Raceway, Long Pond, Pa., Sunday, Aug. 3. Hornish races at Watkins Glen (N.Y.) International for the second, and final, road course race of the season, Sunday, Aug. 10.
