Archbold Native Receives Teacher Of The Year Title
      Mary Jo (Grime) Ferguson, Lorain, has been named Ohio State Teacher of the Year by the Ohio School Resource Offi- cers Association. Ferguson, a 1985 Archbold High School graduate, is the daughter of Herbert and Helen Grime, Archbold.

Industrial Park Office Bldg. Project Gets Green Light
      John Kaylor, deputy superintendent of the Northwest Ohio Educational Service Center, said the center's board voted to go ahead with a 50,000 squarefoot office building project on Nolan Parkway in the Archbold Industrial Park. Lugbill Brothers, Inc., Archbold, will construct the building.

Yellow Post Just A Stand-In For Replacement Bell Bollard
      The yellow metal post at the intersection of North Defiance and Stryker streets is a temporary addition, standing in for a new bell bollard. When Archbold Village Council authorized the redesign of North Defiance Street in 2005, several decorative lighted bollards were placed near intersections.

NSCC To Offer Live Internet Classes
      A technology Northwest State Community College uses for business and industry training will move to the academic side. Known as "synchronous distance learning," the technology involves a teacher in one location working with students at distant locations, with the ability to see and talk to each other.

Ruth Evelyn Kruse, 76, of Napoleon, died Tuesday, July 29, 2008 at St. Vincent's Mercy Medical Center in Toledo. She was born Nov. 23, 1931 in Sidney, to the late Roy and Ada (Gross) Ammon.
