Fulton County Joins Regional Port Authority
      Normally, the words "Port Authority" mean an organization that operates a port on an ocean shore, or at least one of the Great Lakes. So, how would landlocked counties such as Fulton, Defiance, Henry, and Paulding have a "port authority?

Turnpike Traffic Down, Reflecting Economy
      Traffic on the Ohio Turnpike was down in 2007 compared to 2006, figures from the Ohio Turnpike Commission's annual report indicate. In 2006, figures show total vehicle-miles traveled by all vehicles was just over 3 billion. The figure dropped to 2.98 billion in 2007. Roughly, the total vehicle miles traveled on the toll road was down about 61 million, or about 2%.

Industry Group Honors Arrow Tru-Line In Vegas
      The International Door Association honored Arrow Tru- Line, Archbold, with the Member of the Year award. Officials from Arrow Tru- Line received the award at the assocation's 2008 expo in Las Vegas, Nev., in May. The company, headquartered in Archbold with a plant in Bryan, plus locations in Texas, Nevada, and Canada, employs about 250 workers.

Ridgeville Fire Department Gets Grant, Loan Money
      The Ridgeville Township Fire Department is scheduled to receive $27,000 in grant funds, and a $200,000 zero-interest loan. Dexter Benecke, Ridgeville Fire Department chief, said the $27,000 grant will be used to replace the tops on two of three underground cisterns in the downtown area. The cisterns store about 13,000 gallons of water each for firefighting purposes.
