Clifford C. Nafziger

Clifford C. Nafziger, age 90 years, of Archbold, passed away Monday evening, March 24, 2008 at the Fulton County Health Center in Wauseon.

He was born Feb. 25, 1918 near Archbold, a son of Alfred and Ruth (Eicher) Nafziger, and married Mary Beck on Dec. 25, 1940.

A lifelong resident of the Archbold area, he farmed and worked for Riegsecker Brothers, at Dan Sommers Furniture Shop, and retired from Fore Craft. He was a charter member of the Tedrow Mennonite Church.

He is survived by his wife, Mary, who resides at Fairlawn Haven Nursing Home; two sons, Marvin (Judy) Nafziger of Albany, Ore., and Lowell (Diane) Nafziger of Goshen, Ind.; two daughters, Carol Anderson of LaCrosse, Wis., and Joyce (Lyle) Miller of Weatherford, Okla.; 15 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and one brother, Maurice E. (Dorothy) Nafziger of Archbold.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Janet Leatherman; two grandchildren, Cory Leatherman and Jason Miller; and two brothers, Chester Nafziger and Freeman Nafziger.

Memorial services were held on Saturday at the Tedrow Mennonite Church with Pastor Randy Nafziger officiating. Interment preceded in the Pettisville Cemetery.

Short Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

The family suggests that memorials be given to Adriel School or Mennonite Central Committee.
