Golden Bears Maul Blue Streaks 52-43

The Archbold High School girls basketball team fought hard but lost 52-43 to Bryan, Thursday, Dec. 13.
The loss drops the Streaks to 5-3, 2-2 in the Northwest Ohio Athletic League.
Bryan (3-3, 2-1 NWOAL) scored 40 seconds into the game for a 2-0 lead, but Adi Lange tied the score with a bucket. Dani Newman scored a conventional three-pointer to give AHS a 5-2 lead. Another Streak score stretched the lead to five, 7-2.
Bryan scored six more points to Archbold's two and the Streaks led 9-8 after the first quarter.
Alyssa Schaub scored two points for AHS to begin the second quarter. A Bryan three tied the score at 11, and a minute later Bryan led 16-11.
With three minutes remaining in the first half, Kevin "Scoop" Miller called a time-out to gather the Streaks. A Devin Newman put-back with less than a minute left closed the gap to 22-15, which is how the half ended.
To open the second half, Abbey Graber passed to Lange for two. Lange also scored the next time down for a 28-19 deficit. Bryan outscored AHS 13-8 in the third to lead 35-23.
In the fourth quarter, the Blue Streaks outscored Bryan 20-17 for the 52-43 loss.
Lange led AHS with 11 points.
"It was a hard-fought game," said Miller. "Give Bryan credit; they hit some big shots and played very aggressive.
"I thought we played hard, but Bryan's defense kept us from knocking down shots consistently."
AHS took 15 more shots than BHS, but Bryan made 20 field goals to Archbold's 19.
Archbold was 4/13 from the foul line; Bryan was 8/15.
Graber was the Streaks' lead- ing rebounder, grabbing eight of the team's 34. Both teams grabbed 34 rebounds.
Bryan committed 19 turnovers to Archbold's 13.
