      The Archbold High School girls basketball team fought hard but lost 52-43 to Bryan, Thursday, Dec. 13. The loss drops the Streaks to 5-3, 2-2 in the Northwest Ohio Athletic League.       Mount Union College lost its bid for a third consecutive Division III football championship, Saturday, Dec. 15. The Purple Raiders (14-1) suffered a 31-21 loss to Wisconsin Whitewater (14-1) in the 35th annual Amos Alonzo Stagg Bowl.

      Sectional and district tournament sites have been shuffled around for 2007-08 winter sports. Wauseon is no longer a site for the Division IV sectional boys or girls basketball tourneys, and Napoleon has become a district site for both boys and girls basketball.

Local Owners' Horse Wins Big N.J. Race
$555,000 Purse

      Artist's View, a three-year-old colt pacer owned by Dean Miller and Bill Rufenacht, Archbold, won the Breeders Crown race at the Meadowlands, Saturday, Nov. 14, in East Rutherford, N. J. The horse finished the onemile course in 1:54.4, a careerbest time.
