Fulton Co. Extension Service Announces 2008 Event And Animal Entry Dates

The Fulton County Extension Service announced event dates for 2008.

The Northwest Ohio annual Corn/Soybean Day program is Jan. 11 at Founder's Hall, Sauder Village. Early registrations must be postmarked by Jan. 4. For complete information, contact the extension service.

Nose print cards and information letters for market steer entries for the Ohio State Fair must be postmarked by Jan. 15. They are available at the extension office, 8770 St. Rt. 108, Wauseon.

Steer tag date is Saturday, Jan. 12, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the Fulton County Fairgrounds. Steers must be tagged and retina scanned Jan. 12 even if the exhibitor cannot be present. All animals must be haltered. Deadline for possession of a steer is Jan. 1.

The feeder calf tag-in day runs 9 a.m. to 12-noon, Saturday, June 7, at the fairgrounds.

Beef and dairy feeder calves must be March calves to make weight for the fair.
