Funding Options Considered For Ridgeville Park

The most cost-effective organization for the future Ridgeville Park was considered at a public meeting hosted by the Ridgeville Park board, Tuesday, Dec. 11.

The 10 persons at the meeting, including park board offi- cials and the Ridgeville Township Trustees, discussed naming the trustees the governing body of the park.

Barry Ranzau, park board president, said liability insurance would cost an independent board over $1,700 annually, while government trustees could access it at lower costs.

Mark Stockman, vice-president, said the trustees would receive notices about grants and resources of which the board would be unaware or have to search for.

Under the suggested arrangement, the elected park board would continue to govern routine operations.

Currently, the board includes Ranzau, Stockman, and Jayma Gobrogge, the secretary/treasurer.

No action was taken. The park board will meet with the trustees, Monday night, Jan. 14, for further discussion.

The next regular park board meeting is 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 12, in the Ridgeville fire station.
