Archbold traveled to Napoleon, Thursday, Dec. 6 and was defeated 36- 22. The Streaks got off to a good start as they rebounded and moved the ball quickly down the court and led 10- 0. Napoleon came roaring back in the second quarter for an 18-11 lead. The Streaks played better in the third but couldn't sustain their scoring punch and went down to defeat. Morgan Cody had 10 points; Abby Short, 7; Britt Wyse, 4; and Tori Williams, 1. Meyer led Napoleon with 18. Archbold 7th Grade Boys Basketball Napoleon invaded Blue Streak country, Thursday, Dec. 6. Zeb Frank scored seven of his game-high 20 points in the first quarter as the Streaks jumped out to a 12-4 lead. Stuart Wyse also buried a three in the opening stanza. Frank stayed hot in the second quarter as he tallied eight more points. Archbold went into the locker room with a 23-13 lead. The third quarter was evenly played, but Levi Gerig hit a short turnaround at the end and Archbold extended its lead to 12 points. Taylor Price caught fire in the fourth, scoring all eight of his points in a twominute span to seal the deal for a 41-24 victory. The Streaks are back in action, Thursday, Dec. 13 when they travel to Wauseon. Archbold 8th Grade Boys Basketball Archbold used a huge 20-2 firstquarter advantage to post a 64-32 victory over Napoleon, Thursday, Dec. 6. The victory upped Archbold's record to 2-0. Hayden Stamm and Tanner Wyse combined to score 11 of the 20 firstquarter points to lead the Streaks. The second quarter wasn't much different as the Streaks outscored the Wildcats 20-6 to take a convincing 40-8 advantage at the half. Gabe Rodriguez came off the bench and nailed three 3- pointers for nine, while Luke Kammeyer dominated inside to score seven in the quarter. "Our first half defense forced many Napoleon turnovers, and we were able to convert those into easy baskets at the offensive end," said Brian Ziegler, coach. The inside duo of Stamm and Kammeyer scored 14 of the 16 thirdquarter points to push the lead to 56-14 at the end of three. Dylan Reisser and Chandler Tuckerman led the Streak scoring in the fourth as everyone saw plenty of playing time. "Everyone is getting valuable playing time, which will benefit us later in the season," said Ziegler. Leading the Streak attack was Kammeyer with 19 points and five rebounds; Stamm, 14 points; and Rodriguez, 11 points. Travis Pennington collected six rebounds, while T.J. Gerken added many nice passes with seven assists. | |||||
