"Our defense played solid tonight, and we rebounded well to finish off the possessions," said Kevin "Scoop" Miller, AHS head coach.

"We didn't shoot well, but it was nice to see the defense come through for us."

AHS shot 39 percent from the field (14/36). LC shot 25 percent (10/40).

The Tigers led 9-6 after the first quarter, but went stone cold in the second as AHS went on an 11-0 run for a 17-9 halftime advantage.

AHS stretched the lead to 11 after quarter three, 27-16. LC outscored the Streaks by five in the fourth, but the deficit was too great for the Tigers to overcome.

Liberty Center's Kaitlin Rohrs led all scorers with 22.

AHS outrebounded LC 27-23, including 13 from Dani Newman.

Laura Wyse scored off a backdoor play to tie the score at 4, and a Bri Wyse assist to Abby Graber gave AHS a 9-6 lead to open the contest with Fairview.

With less than 15 seconds left in the first, Lange sank a turnaround shot, giving the Streaks a 16-11 advantage.

Using balanced scoring in the second, the Streaks scored 30 points for a 46-17 halftime lead.

Four Streaks each scored at least four points in the period, led by Dani Newman, who scored eight of her 11 points in the quarter.

Kenzie Frank hit a 3-pointer with four seconds left to put an exclamation point on the first half.

Only three Streaks scored in the third quarter, including sophomores Devin Newman, Graber and S. Wyse, for a combined effort of 13 points, as AHS extended its advantage to 59-24.

Alyssa Schaub scored two as the buzzer sounded for the 70- 40 final.

"Our first half was nice," said Miller. "We played with good intensity and did the little things. We also had many people who contributed, which is always nice to see."

The entire bench played over the course of the game.

Archbold was 30/52 from the field for 58% and 8/14 from the line. Graber led the Streaks with 12 points.

The Apaches were 16/50 from the field for 32% and 6/8 from the line. Tina Schroeder led all scorers with 14.
