Jacquelyn C. Bechtold

Jacquelyn C. "Jacquie" Bechtold, age 81, of Archbold, died Friday, Nov. 30, 2007, at Fairlawn Haven Nursing Home in Archbold.

She was born in Collinsville, Ill., the daughter of the late Arthur and the late Ione (Ostle) Opp. On June 23, 1948 she married Louis F. Bechtold, and he preceded her in death in 2001. Mrs. Bechtold attended the Archbold Methodist Church. She also had belonged to the American Legion Ladies Auxillary of Collinsville, Ill. and the Jr. Service Club of Collinsville, Ill.

She is survived by two daughters, Nancy (Sam) Merillat of Archbold, and Claire (Bruce) Campbell of Navarre, Fla.; one son John Bechtold of Frederick, Md.; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; one grandson, Mark Merillat; one great-grandson, Camron Merillat; and one sister, Marianne Doherty.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2007 at the Archbold United Methodist Church, with the Rev. David David, officiating. Interment will follow in the Archbold Cemetery. Friends may call in the narthex of the church on Wednesday morning from 10 a.m. until the time of service.

The family requests that memorial contributions be given to the Alzheimer's Foundation. Grisier Funeral Home in Archbold is in charge of arrangements.
