Blue Streak Girls Defeat Delta, Fall To Wauseon

Archbold upped its record to 2-1, and 1-0 in the Northwest Ohio Athletic League, in the second week of girls basketball action.
Hosting Wauseon, Tuesday, Nov. 20, the Blue Streaks were defeated 57-43 in a non-league contest.
Archbold dominated Delta 63- 16, Friday, Nov. 23, in its first league contest of the season.
Wauseon 57, AHS 43
The first three points for the Streaks were on free throws by Devin Newman, Adi Lange, and Bri Wyse.
After Wauseon went on a 7- 0 run for a 7-3 lead, Archbold called a time-out with 3:40 left in the first quarter.
Wauseon led 18-9 at the firstquarter end.
Dani Newman took charge, driving to the basket and giving an assist to Stacy Wyse, closing the gap to 20-13.
Devin Newman and Abbey Graber grabbed offensive rebounds for put-backs later in the quarter, bringing Archbold to within two, 25-23.
With less than 30 seconds remaining in the half, Wauseon hit a 3-pointer, making it a fivepoint game, 28-23.
In the third quarter, the Indians scored four treys for a 46-32 lead.
Both teams scored 11 points in the fourth for the 57-43 final.
"We were outplayed badly," said Kevin "Scoop" Miller. "We were out-rebounded, turned the ball over, missed free throws, and were non-aggressive.
"Wauseon played hard and rebounded well."
The Indians grabbed 42 rebounds, led by Sabrina Kessler with 14. The Streaks had 37, led by S. Wyse with nine. Archbold committed 25 turnovers to the Wauseon 21. AHS was 13/25 from the foul line; Wauseon was 6/10.
The Streaks were 15/50 from the field for 30%. Wauseon was 23/59 for 39%.
Graber led AHS with 11 points. Wauseon's Taylor Creager led all scorers with 18.
The AHS junior varsity lost 50-42.
AHS 63, Delta 16
"I thought our intensity was much better tonight," said Miller. "We got some great minutes from a lot of people, which was encouraging to see.
"I also thought we rebounded more like we're capable of tonight. A good team win."
The Streaks led 17-3 after the first quarter and 30-7 at the half.
Lange led all scorers with 15 points.
S. Wyse led AHS in rebounding, grabbing seven of the team's 28.
The Streaks were 21/56 from the field for 38%. Delta was 5/38 for a frigid 13%.
The AHS JV won 32-17.
