      Using a strong second half, Wauseon sent the Blue Streaks back to Archbold with a seasonopening 55-43 non-league boys basketball loss, Saturday, Nov. 24. The two meet again at Archbold, Friday, Jan. 25 for a Northwest Ohio Athletic League match-up.

Blackbirds Claw Past Panthers

      The Pettisville boys basketball team opened its season with a 58-44 victory at Delta, Saturday, Nov. 24. The Blackbirds outscored Delta in every quarter. Josh Bruner, a senior, had the hot hand in the first quarter, scoring all eight Pettisville points as the Birds held an 8-7 lead.

      Haley Nofziger and Katie Weber, Pettisville High School juniors, received first team All- Buckeye Border Conference honors in volleyball. Jodi Spotts, a senior, and Karina Rohrer-Meck, a junior, were named second team All- BBC.

      Kendra Stahl scored eight points in the Huntington (Ind.) University 73-53 victory over Siena Heights University, Saturday, Nov. 24. She was 2/6 from the field and 4/4 from the foul line. A 2004 Archbold High School graduate, Stahl is the daughter of Tim and Barb.
