Archbold Teacher Contract Talks At Impasse; Call For Fact Finder

      Contract negotiations between the Archbold Area School Board and the Archbold Education Association have reached an impasse. As a result, the two sides will go before an arbitrator from the State Employment Relations Board in a fact-finding hearing.

School Board Settles With Classified Employees
      The Archbold Area School Board granted members of the school district's classified staff and educational aides a 1.5% raise for each of the next two years. The board approved the agreement during its Monday night, Nov. 19 school board meeting, following a 15-minute executive session.

Councilmen Want Hand In Changing Zoning Law
      Archbold Village Council members debated the procedure to change zoning laws at the Monday night, Nov. 19 meeting. Recently, the Archbold Planning Commission and Zoning Board of Appeals met in a joint session, and outlined five proposed changes in the village zoning ordinances.

Huffman Describes Local Kart Racing Scene
      John Huffman, veteran Archbold kart racer, remembers the first time he drove a go-kart. Speaking to the Archbold Area Chamber of Commerce at the Monday, Nov. 19 noon luncheon, Huffman said it happened when he was five years old on a go-kart ride at the Williams County fairgrounds.
