Goering, Dunning Named AP First Team All-District

Gene Goering and Jimmy Dunning, Archbold High School seniors, garnered first team honors on the Associated Press all-district football team in Division V.

Goering, Blue Streak quarterback, passed for 2,917 yards and 31 touchdowns this season. He completed 182 of 302 attempts and averaged 265.2 yards passing per game.

Goering led the Streaks in rushing yardage this year. He ran for 642 total yards, averaging 58.5 ypg, and scored 19 TDs.

Dunning, a receiver, caught 67 passes for 971 yards and 12 TDs. He averaged 88.3 ypg.

Jacob Fidler and Trevor Meyer, juniors, received second team honors; Fidler, second team offense and Meyer, second team defense. Jack Downey, a senior, and David Dominique, a junior, received honorable mentions.
