Library Board Sets Clerk Interviews, Picks Board Member

The Archbold Community Library Board set special meeting dates to interview candidates for the clerk-treasurer position, and decided to approach Jay Budde, Archbold, to serve on the library board.

Jed Grisez, president of the library board, said there were 29 applications for the position. Of the 29, interviews will be scheduled for five.

The board will hold special meetings Thursday, Oct. 25, and Monday, Oct. 29, to conduct interviews.

Since the board's next regular meeting isn't until Monday, Dec. 17, Grisez said a third special meeting will be held to name the new clerk treasurer.

The new clerk-treasurer will replace Marilyn Freytag, who is retiring after 14 years in the post.

Board members also selected John Bamonte, Archbold, as their newest member. He was one of three candidates considered for the position and had expressed an interest in serving.

He replaces John Emch, rural Archbold, who is leaving the board after completing one seven year term at the end of this year.
