Races For Archbold And Fayette Councils; Two Mayors Unopposed
Four men are vying for three seats on the Archbold Village Council in the Tuesday, Nov. 6 general election ballot.
In Fayette, two men and a woman are competing for two seats on council.
Mayors in both communities are unopposed.
All terms start Jan. 1, 2008.
ARCHBOLD COUNCIL
Candidate: Vaughn Bentz Resides in: Archbold

Comments: "My business management and service experience for 20 years is a good foundation for making decisions. I will continue to be aggressive in bringing additional jobs to Archbold and rebuilding infrastructure."
Morton said that being chairman of council's utility committee has allowed him to gain experience in the needs of current and potential businesses when making decisions that attempt to maintain or bring jobs to the village.
"Serving on council for nearly eight years has been a privilege and very rewarding. ConAgra's recent announcement reminds me of the positive approach council took after the company's original plan to close.
"Forward-thinking, proactive decisions are critical and must be continued for our community, its businesses and citizens."

Comments: Wyse said his goals in office are "to continue to work with current businesses and prospective businesses to solidify and grow our employment base."
FAYETTE COUNCIL
Michael Maginn, Fayette, a candidate for Fayette council, did not return a questionnaire to the Buckeye. He currently serves on council after being appointed.

She said she wants "to establish the groundwork for a new sewer treatment plant.
"I have lots of background information and experience. I also enjoy working on projects with professionals in a variety of fields."

Comments: Rosinski said as a member of council, he will try to bring more jobs into Fayette, and he would like to see more growth in the community.
He said he also would work to bring suburban rail service to the community.
