PHS Student Recognized

Matthew Dougherty, Pettisville High School senior, has been named a commended student in the 2008 National Merit Scholarship program.

Michael Lane, PHS principal, said while Dougherty won't continue in the National Merit Scholarship competition, he is one of 34,000 students from across the United States to earn the commended student recognition.

Commended students placed among the top 5% of the 1.4 million who entered the 2008 scholarship competition.
