Birds Beat N. Baltimore, Fall To Columbus Grove

The Pettisville volleyball team opened its season with a tri-match at Columbus Grove with North Baltimore.

The Birds beat North Baltimore 25-11, 25-16 but lost to the Bulldogs 25-9, 25-11 to start the season with a 1-1 record.

Against the North Baltimore Tigers, Jodi Spotts led the Birds with 9/9 attacks. Haley Nofziger was 8/10 and Katie Weber, 7/9. Karina Rohrer-Meck was 21/21 in setting. Chelsea Schmucker was 17/18 in serving.

As a team, PHS was 41/47 in serving, 15/20 in serve reception, 36/38 in passing, 36/36 in setting, and 42/47 in attacks.

Nofziger had two solo blocks and was 7/7 in attacks against Columbus Grove. Schmucker was also 7/7 in attacks. Rohrer- Meck was 16/18 in setting.

As a team, PHS was 19/21 in serving, 32/45 in serve reception, 16/23 in passing, 28/31 in setting, and 28/33 in attacks.
