Local Kart Race Rained Out; Plan To Reschedule In Fall

Archbold's kart race on the parking lot at Terry Henricks Chrysler-Dodge-Jeep was rained out Sunday, Aug. 19, but promoters plan on running the event yet this year.

John Huffman, veteran Archbold kart racer, said promoters are considering a date in September or October at the same location.

"There is so much interest in it," he said.

The track was set up Saturday. A practice session with 15 to 20 carts was held, and the track was "racey," Huffman said.

The track was widened in places and shortened eight feet to make racing more competitive.
