Yellow Buses On Road Again

This morning, the endless cycle starts again.

Youngsters return to school, which means they're walking, riding bicycles, scooters, or skateboards, or any of a number of ride-on vehicles. Truth is, sidewalks and streets are dangerous.

Yellow school buses have returned to the road, hauling precious cargo morning and afternoon.

Motorists must be aware of children dashing into the roadway, or falling off bicycles, scooters, and skateboards in front of oncoming traffic, or running in front of stopped school buses or parked vehicles.

In recent years our area has been free of disaster, other communities in Northwest Ohio have suffered tragedy. An inattentive driver, mixed with a rambunctious child, spell trouble, injury, or death.

Safety is the interest of everyone. It is something everyone must think about, every day, day-in and day-out.

When citizens slide behind the wheel, and a youngster throws a leg over a bicycle or steps onto a skateboard, be aware of your surroundings and the imminent danger.

Everyone must work together to make sure we have another safe and successful school year.
