Print Still Alive And Kicking Those who shout "print is dead!" from the rooftops haven't seen the latest from the Ohio Newspaper Association. In a study conducted this year, based on telephone interviews with 1,208 Ohio adults, 58% say newspapers are their main source of community and neighborhood news, the news that means the most to a person's daily life. When it comes to shopping, restaurants, and entertainment, 63% of Ohio adults say newspapers are their prime source of information. The Internet was supposed to be the final spear in the heart of newspapers, but even in cyberspace, newspapers play a huge role. Of those surveyed, 56% of those who use the Internet regularly visit newspaper websites. So, is print dead? In Ohio, the answer is a resounding no. |
