Paul M. Short

Paul M. Short, age 88 years, of Archbold, passed away Monday morning, Aug. 13, 2007, at the Defiance Inpatient Hospice, where he was admitted Friday.

He was born Dec. 3, 1918, near Archbold, a son of Amandus and Malinda (Aeschliman) Short, and married Pauline Wyse on Sept. 6, 1938.

An Archbold area resident most of his lifetime, he was a truck driver for Rowley Interstate, Miller Brothers, and Bryan Metals.

He was a member of St. John's Christian Church in Archbold, and Superior Lodge 179 F&AM at West Unity.

He is survived by his wife, Pauline; one son, Kent (Shiela) Short of Wauseon; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one brother, Lawrence E. (Ruby) Short of Archbold; and one sister, Fannie Gisel of Archbold.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Paul William "Bill" Short; four brothers, Nathaniel Short, Willis Short, Jesse L. Short, and Cornelius Short; and one sister, Kathryn Nofziger.

Memorial services will be held tomorrow, Thursday, at 11 a.m. at St. John's Christian Church in Archbold with Reverend Erich Christman and Pastor Adam Just officiating. Interment will precede in the Archbold Cemetery.

Friends may call at Short Funeral Home in Archbold from 2-8 p.m. on Wednesday with Masonic services at 7:30 p.m.

The family suggests that memorials be given to St. John's Christian Church, Fairlawn Haven or to Community Health Professionals Hospice.
