Streaks Defeat Rossford In OT, Fall To Vikings

Coming back Friday, Dec. 7, the Streaks lost to Evergreen 49-30 in a Northwest Ohio Athletic League contest and dropped to 5-2, 2-1 NWOAL.
Evergreen 49, AHS 30
Evergreen (3-2, 1-2 NWOAL) scored the game's first point, and it didn't get better for the Streaks as EHS led 14-6 after one quarter.
Kenzie Frank sank a threepointer to close the gap to 27-11 in the second. Abby Graber followed with another three at 29- 14. Evergreen scored once more before the buzzer for a 31-14 halftime lead.
Dani Newman, Adi Lange and Andrea Allan all put up points in the third quarter, but EHS outscored the Streaks 14-8 for a 45-22 advantage.
The Streak defense allowed Evergreen only four points in the fourth, but Archbold scored only one field goal in the final quarter while hitting six foul shots for the 19-point margin.
AHS was ice cold from the field, converting 9/43 shots for 21%. Newman led the Streaks with nine points.
Evergreen was 17/51 from the field for 33%. Taylor Langenderfer and Tasha Patek led all scorers with 12 each.
Archbold was out-rebounded 33-29; Newman led AHS with eight.
AHS 28, Rossford 22
The Streaks used the fourth quarter to catch up with the Bulldogs (4-1), outscoring them 9-6 to tie the score at 21 at the end of regulation.
Archbold allowed Rossford one point in OT and scored seven to win 28-22.
Rossford led after each of the first three low-scoring quarters.
"Our defense came through tonight for us," said Kevin "Scoop" Miller, AHS head coach. "We were fortunate to win, as we only had two field goals heading into the fourth quarter.
"Our seniors stepped it up down the stretch, which is what you want to see."
Allan and Stacy Wyse led the Streaks with five points each. Devin Newman led the team in rebounds, with 10 of the team's 28.
Archbold was 9/29 from the field for 31%. Rossford was 7/33 for 21%. Both teams committed 23 turnovers.
