Marguerite Marie Spengler

Marguerite Marie Spengler, 92, Ridgeville Corners, died Saturday evening, Nov. 17, 2007 at the Golden Living Center-Northcrest, Napoleon.

She was born Jan. 19, 1915 in Ridgeville Twp., Henry County, Ohio to Albert and Bertha (Benecke) Funkhouser. On Feb. 12, 1955 she married Richard Franklin Spengler at St. Peter Lutheran Church, Ridgeville Corners, and he preceded her in death on June 21, 1980.

Marguerite worked as a recording clerk at the Henry County Probate Court from 1937 to 1953. She was also a homemaker and farm wife.

She was a lifetime member of St. Peter Lutheran Church, Ridgeville Corners, where she was a church organist for over 40 years, a member of the choir, Ladies Aide, Women of the Church, a Sunday School teacher, and the Luther League, where she helped write and publish the Star-O-Scope Newsletter, which was sent to the servicemen in W.W. II.

She is survived by a daughter, Debra (Michael) Lecklider, and a son, Steven Spengler (Patricia Hines), both of Ridgeville Corners; and six grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 21 at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Ridgeville Corners with Pastor Vicky Coombs officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery, and a luncheon will follow in the church fellowship hall.

Visitation is Tuesday, Nov. 20, from 2-5 and 6-9 p.m. at the Rodenberger Funeral Home in Napoleon and one hour prior to services at the church on Wednesday.

The family suggests memorials be given to St. Peter Lutheran Church Memorial Fund or to a charity of the donor's choice.
