OBITUARY Paid Memorial

Opal M. Hayes, 91, of Archbold, passed away late Wednesday, Aug. 29, 2007 at the University of Toledo Medical Center in Toledo.

Prior to her retirement, she had worked for Sauder Manufacturing and the Barn Restaurant. She was also a volunteer for Fulton Manor.

Mrs. Hayes was born on Dec. 7, 1915 in Stryker to George and Ella (Nofziger) Rupp. In 1939 she married Donald Harmon, and he preceded her in death in 1954. In 1972 she married Robert Hayes, and he preceded her in death in 1996.

She was a member of the Evangelical Mennonite Church in Archbold, where she was active as a Sunday School teacher for many years.

Surviving is her sister, Irene Rupp of Archbold; her inherited children, Ruth (Wayne) Rupp of Pettisville, Rollin (Shirley) Hayes of Archbold, Duane (Linda) Hayes of Wauseon, Doyle (Marlene) Hayes of Pennsylvania, and Lyle (Shirley) Hayes of Nebraska.

Also surviving are 17 inherited grandchildren and 35 inherited great-grandchildren. Also surviving are cousins and many friends.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Sept. 1, 2007 at the Grisier Funeral Home in Archbold with Pastor Charles Zimmerman and Pastor Stuart Rex officiating. Interment followed in the Pettisville Cemetery.

The family requests that memorial contributions be made to either the Mennonite Central Committee or Samaritans Purse.
